Co-created & Performed by Anuraag Dhoundeyal, Priyanka Patel and Karan Chitra Deshmukh. As an interactive performance, SOTS not just traces the historical evidences of the epic movement of love (Sufism), but also speaks earnestly of the lives of the performers juxtaposed with the lives of the Sufi Saints through live music, storytelling and poetry. This provides for a never-seen-before bond that is formed with the audiences, where the audiences identify with the performance at a deeper level, bringing the 800-year-old philosophy to life. Sounds of the Sufis is a celebration of love, a celebration of self, a celebration of self-discovery and a celebration of life, in its fullest form. Whilst speaking of the lives and works of Rumi to Lal Ded, Amir Khusrau to Rabia Basri, Khwaja Nizamuddin Chisti to Meera, Prophet Mohammed to Kabir – Sounds of the Sufis delivers its message of love and oneness through music, anecdotes and personal narratives. The performance weaves tales that have been passed down through generations – some that have been lost through the pages of history, some that are alive through folklore and some that have found legends of their own, with time and through Sufis.
