DCP Weekend Photowalks is an innovative concept, the flagship product of DCP Expeditions. It started in 2013 with an objective to help Mumbaikars know the wild side of Mumbai better, we identified 52 locations, which still have greenery in and around Mumbai, where 52 weekend photo walks would be conducted covering the entire year. These weekend photo walks kept running irrespective of the count of the participants. This unique concept was appreciated and acknowledged across the nation. We received immense appreciation in exchange of putting our heart and soul for it. Today the concept has got immensely popular and parallel photo walks keep happening in multiple cities and towns all across the nation at a time and also beyond the country borders. The popularity of the walks have grown so much that today you just need to Google ‘Weekend Photo Walks’ and you know everything about DCP. These walks are conducted free of cost in nature trails identified in and around the cities. These weekend photo walks are conducted by DCP covering the entire year. These walks keep running irrespective of the count of the participants. You are free to join in any of the walks but yes we would be looking for a compulsory prior registration at least 48 hours in advance notification.

These weekend photo walks act not only as an avenue for the budding wildlife photography enthusiasts to explore and refine their photography skills but also is an excellent medium for documentation of the biodiversity in and around the city life. Data collected during the photo walks by the DCPians are subjected to authentication by the experts and constitute a significant contribution to DCP Explorer’s expanding countrywide data base of biodiversity documentation, which can prove to be extremely helpful for the scientific community in the long run.
