It is something we live with today and, hopefully, something that we can pass on to future generations. Ahmedabad is one of the ancient centres of trade, bearing architectural testimonies to the Hindu-Muslim cultural fusion, the walled city of Ahmedabad has held a prominent position in the history. For this event will be discussing importance of heritage and how ahmedabad became world heritage city. We have invited two speaker for this event. Mr. Jitu Mishra is an archaeologist by training from Pune’s Deccan College. At present he serves as the cofounder of Virasat E Hind Foundation, a section 8 Company based in Ahmedabad. He works mainly in the area in generating interest about local history, culture and archaeology through field trips, organizing conclaves and publications. He has worked extensively in the area of school education to popularize Indian history and heritage among teachers and students. He is a traveller and blogger. His deep interest lies in fusion of culture, art and historic water management practices. He is from Bhubaneswar and lives in Ahmedabad. Second Speaker Ms. Zalak Patel is Pakki Amdavadi, Explorer and story teller rolled into one – Yes, she just need an audience and then you’re in for lecture of 2-3 hours. She is strong believer of ‘Giving something back to the community. To take this belief further she left her job as project manager and has started with Organic Farming,Gau Palan and ExperienceAhmedabad. ExperienceAhmedabad is her initiative to connect Ahmedabad to its people by conducting variouse activities like heritage walk, sharing stories and Fables on social media under page ExperienceAhmedabad. She is constantly exploring Ahmedabad to dig out Fables n tales related to Ahmedabad and coming up with new and imaginative walk to spread amdavadiness to people.
