The dictionary meaning of cacophony is “a harsh discordant mixture of sounds.”

A Cacophony, by Hansika Sharma, is an art exhibit inspired by one of the blogs she wrote in 2017 by the same tittle, on how she has continuous chatters inside her head around the dilemma of to be, or, not to be; on the choice of choosing oneself over any other person’s opinion.

These paintings are a result of such chatters, or a cacophony of what is right, what is wrong; what is love and what is not.

The art is in her unique signature style, having a limited color palette, the hero being the Indigo Blue, which the artist claims to be the color of her soul; and a language of patterns, which according to her are the codes of her soul.

About the Artist :

Hansika Sharma, became a full time artist in the year 2016, after leaving her job, to make art. While navigating her way through the style of work she reached a point where there were numerous lines and dots, all united by one color Indigo Blue.

Drawing the skills that she learnt as a Textile Designer, she developed a language with patterns, using the basic elements of design. All of her work revolves around the color Indigo Blue. The style of her work is abstract expressionist, most of them being Self portraits. She works mostly with fabrics, acrylic paints, threads and free hand to give her work an imperfect perfection.
