It is said that Lies spread like fire. Although nowadays people opt for lies for their convenience but in the end only truth triumphs. This is the moral of our play “Jutthu Bolo Jalsa Karo “ which is shown in a hilarious way.

Jignesh Raithattha is the Hero of the play. He has the habit of telling lies in each and any situation. All though he is educated, he neither has his own house nor does he has a good source of income. He is working in Komal Cosmatics under his Boss called Himmatlal.  Amit Marfatiya is his best friend, who is an estate agent. He gives a Bungalow near the sea coast for rent to a person called Chandulal Chanderiya who is from Africa. Owner of the bungalow is Dholak Ddumdumwala, whom Amit has never met. Chandulal has paid Handsomely the rent of the bungalow for the period of eleven months with terms that Amit will provide one servant for eleven months in Rent and he was going to come for the stay after eight days  In the bungalow. He has come here to India to get married. He is mature and a widower and wants to find a good partner in three months and get married.

Meanwhile, Jignesh who has gone to Shimla on holiday falls in love with a rich girl called Kavita Kinariwala and gets married to her, and returns to Mumbai. He has told lies to Kavita that he is a rich person and has his own bungalow on the sea coast. He tells his friend Amit to let him stay in the bungalow for seven days till Chandulal Chanderia comes. Amit in friendship helps Jignesh and allows him to stay there for seven days. But Chandulal comes earlier and all the trouble, Dhamaal, lies start. Chandulal falls in love with Jignesh’s mother-in-law.

And the Drama goes on Hilariousely finding the solution. All’s well that ends well. And Everything is sorted out in the end emphasizing the moral truth only triumphs.

Hayavadana

Girish Karnad’s “Hayavadana” blends realism, magic, myth, and desire, offering a theatrical experience of boundless possibilities. The play intertwines myth and modernity, crafting a contemporary statement that resonates deeply.

Hayavadana, the horse-headed man who lends the play its title, exists in a space painfully suspended between the animal and human realms. This fractured existence transforms the play into a potent existentialist myth, a metaphor for the timeless discourse of mind over matter. Reality and fantasy collide seamlessly on stage, creating a world where lamenting horses and speaking dolls reflect and comment. Karnad’s text explores the body and mind’s inherent duality, inviting multiple interpretations. Further enhancing its theatrical power, “Hayavadana” is a musical journey, driving the narrative, adding depth and texture to the scene construction, and ensuring an immersive experience.
