My Kind of Indie(MKOI) Listening Sessions is a community-driven effort to discover new music together.

The format is simple – the host for the night presents their favourite kind of Indian independent music. Plenty of songs, videos, discussions, stories and bragging rights to take back home!

This Sunday, we have Kartavya Jain talking about IDM – known as Intelligent Dance Music and criticized for the name (because some people are clearly not intelligent and they hate it) , we speak of IDM as IT Doesn’t Matter because stylistically, IDM tends to rely upon individualistic experimentation rather than adhering to characteristics associated with specific genres.

Rather than following the overused, abused and boring 4 on 4 kick and bass pattern, this music explores itself and all the possible elements of electronic music off the dance floor (PS: You can still dance to it)
