India has been blessed by the presence of several Poet saints through centuries. Among the most revered and popular from North India are Hazrat Amir Khusrau and Saint Kabir. Both created several styles of poetic expression and covered a large spectrum of subjects through their verse. Their works resonating hard hitting social realities as well as great spiritual longing have truly immortalized them.

Hazrat Amir Khusrau – A great poet, an accomplished linguist, skilled warrior, prolific writer and, a great musician, Amir Khusrau had all the name, fame, wealth and success at his feet all his life. His works were source of pride and happiness for many.

Kabir – One of the most loved and revered mystics of India, Saint Kabir das was a fearless poet, reformer, critic, devotee and spiritual master all rolled into one. His works abounding in spiritual wisdom, universal love, oneness of all creation and above all, about the spiritual path and gratitude to the Satguru, continue to inspire people from all walks of life beyond the divides of age, nationality, religious preferences and cultural differences.

Banyan Tree’s Khusrau-Kabir aims to celebrate the rich legacy of the two great geniuses whose works continue to guide us even today. Well known singers of India bring alive the rich poetry of the two on the same platform with their musical expertise. The contemporary classical and semi-classical instruments connect the ancient works with the twenty first century.
This 12 year old festival has received overwhelming response from the music lovers of Mumbai and Delhi.

In the current situation, ‘Go Digital’ being the only option to reach the music lovers, hence we at Banyan Tree wish to present ‘Khusrau-Kabir’ digitally this year, which makes it available to view from any corner of the world, from any time zone. The concert will be available for 24 hours from the showtime (6:30pm IST) for streaming online.

The digital version of this festival will present some of the best Khusrau Kabir performances! Keeping the same format as every year, the concert will be a bouquet of some contemporary and some traditional presentations.
