As an art historian, her interests are positioned at the intersection of semiotic analysis, Intertextuality and the configuration of pluralities of meanings in the play between texts and paintings. Among her publications and edited books are Rajasthani Ragamala Paintings (2013), Some conundrums in Krishna Paintings (2008), From Scriptures to Seva: The Case of Refashioning Authority in the Vallabha Sampradaya and the Haveli Cult (2005), Metamorphosis of Words into Pictures (2004), Intertextuality, Authorship and the Conundrum of Interpretation in the Sursagar Paintings of Mewar (2003) The Catalogue and Notes on the Paintings of Raja Ravi Varma in the Baroda Gaekwad Collection (1998). In the area of contemporary art, she has written catalogue essays, reviews of solo and group shows and artist profiles for prominent magazines and e-magazines of India.
