Kasturbhai Lalbhai Museum is pleased to host the eminent sculptor K.S. Radhakrishnan’s retrospective, “On the Open Road” curated by the distinguished scholar and art historian Prof. R. Siva Kumar.

The retrospective will present a comprehensive overview of the artist’s five-decade career which also features early works, abstract sculptures, and portraiture from the 1970s and 1980s.

Through this exhibition we explore the mesmerizing works of the sculptor from the archetypal male and female figures to the myriad forms they can take as regenerations of the human condition, with all their aspirations, trials and ecstasies.

In the words of Prof R. Siva Kumar “An artist’s journey is never teleological. No creative journey can ever be. That is what makes retrospective exhibitions engaging. It gives the artist and his viewers a chance to look back at the road travelled and to map the journey.”
