Looking Back for the Future

Open for All

2024-08-05 18:00:00 2024-08-05 00:00:00 Asia/Kolkata Looking Back for the Future

Join us for “Looking Back for the Future” , a fireside chat with Architect Aniket Bhagwat and Design Educator Tanishka Kachru. Moderated by curator Satyajit Dave.

In a world constantly in-flux, a right mindset combined with an imaginative eye would enable articulating a cohesive and positive vision for the future. A well synchronised collective, collaborative, and co-operative effort would enable a formidable strategy to operate in this highly unpredictable atmosphere in which competitive advantage may dissolve at any moment. The session will look into notions of Sustainable Ecosystems and Ecologies in relation to cultural production.

The session is organised as a parallel program to Iram’s current exhibition titled ‘Embodied Vestiges’ showcasing works of Dinar Sultana and Promiti Hossain.

The exhibition delves into traces of our past and their profound implications for the posthuman future As you move through the exhibition, consider how vestiges in various forms—physical, cultural, psychological, digital—shape our understanding of identity, memory, and existence. Reflect on the ethical responsibilities we bear towards these traces and the legacies we leave behind. In an era where the boundaries between human, machine, and nature are increasingly fluid, this exhibition aims to offer a provoking journey through the complexities of the posthuman condition and the enduring power of vestiges.
