RTCAhmedabad’s ‘Know Your Heritage’ Sprint on Sunday, the 30th of June is a must for heritage lovers, history buffs, architecture and design aficionados, as well as shutter-bugs alike! About the Step-Well: Adalaj-ki-Vav is a historic step-well dating back to the 15th Century. Designed as a hub of refuge and sustenance to both, passing travelers and locals alike, the Vav is a staggering five stories deep. Its beauty and uniqueness is unparalleled among the other step-wells in the region and era. For starters, the design and carvings reflect both, the Solanki Architecture as well as Islamic Architectural influences. Moreover, it is also the only well of its type to feature three individual entrances that lead people down a level below onto a common platform before proceeding further below.
