About the film: In a world where we seek outstanding stories to tell, Dhoolpet Ganesha is a story of the everyday. What started as a pursuit of an understanding of religion and faith, Dhoolpet Ganesha digresses into a story of a community, often unheard and only remembered conditionally. Dhoolpet Ganesha is not a story, but the experience of a community, and how all the disparate shades of faith paint one single canvas of religion through the eyes of a community in the margins of Hyderabad. About the Screening: This screening is a part of series that team Dhoolpet is conducting across the country and beyond. After completing Dhoolpet Ganesha in 2018, we decided to take our film to all places where we could find people who would love to huddle up in cafes and studios for the love of cinema. And this love took us to places unheard, across the country. This and the struggle of an indie-film to make a space for itself, finding places and people who wholeheartedly welcome and excitedly watch the film extended this journey to this date. As a part of this ongoing journey – we bring to you this screening round that is intended to be led by the people and for the community of people who love cinema. Join us in January and February for screenings by either joining a screening at your city or inviting a bunch of your friends and screening it at the nearest cafe, community center, or even (and our most favorite) your living rooms.
