Chalo Varta Sambhadiye

Directly or Indirectly we need an Escape button in our life. By pressing we can escape from our life problems for a while. Then we’ll come back. But this escape button should be used for a while. And if one finds something that can take him/her away from his reality for 2-5-10-15 seconds and take him/her to another world s/he likes it very much. Be it Vacation Sunday Navratri or any Story. But the time to break away from the grind of daily life from the fixed salary from the hustle and bustle of business eventually runs short. Indeed one needs an escape only for a few moments. And if you play with a little boy like that or go out at night to casually have an ice-cream you’ll feel so much better inside. Even imagining these two sentences must have made you feel a little better inside right now. So that’s all we need is comfort. And it can relieve us of a lot of stress. Stories work like therapy in a way. Chalo Varta Sambhadiye is a compilation of 4 short stories. Which are connected with each other somewhere. In which the stories are told from the stage and the listeners sit in their comfort and listen to it – enjoy it. So it is for this reason that I (Harsh Dharaiya) tell stories. Because the boy in me enjoys saying that!

About Stories: There is an imaginary village. This village is not on the map of India but such people will surely exist. There are a total of 4 characters in the whole bunch who lived in this village. None of them are alive now but their traces are still alive. First is Mulji Pagi (Pagi = Caretaker of the village). He sits at the village gate and shows the way to everyone coming and going. Moolji’s only hobby in life is watching movies. Moolji is ready to cross all his limits for this love of watching films! Second is Sameer. The word Sameer has different meanings in both Sanskrit and Persian languages. But the actual meaning of the word is the same. Sameer runs a Saree and Dress materials shop and one day falls in love with a girl who comes to the shop to advertise her beauty parlour. Sameer and the girl are stuck between nature’s beckoning and society’s persistence. The third is Dilipbhai. Under the Peepal tree of the village the barber sits with a mirror scissors comb and a bag. He desires to cut his 23-year-old son’s hair once and he lives for it till his last breath. The fourth is an old woman – Maaji. No one in the village knows Maaji’s name. But people have immense faith in her. Maaji has decided to climb a mountain in the village 10000 times. People don’t even know the reason. Maaji climbs the mountain and we too climb the mountain listening to her story. And finally… to know what happens in the end ‘let’s listen to the story…’
