We all dream, so did Dayashankar. He came from a small village to the city of dreams, Mumbai. He wanted to be an actor. Sixteen years of drudgery as a low paid clerk, burdens of his family away in his village and the constant realisation of not being able to fulfil his ambition to be an actor. He never could make it to the silver screen, so he set a stage of his own. He tried to bury his failures behind his fantasies. And slowly the wall separating truth and imagination crumbles, making our protagonist its victim. We are reflections of our thoughts. We are all actors who live in both worlds. Some are successful in maintaining the balance, some are not. The reality of being a clerk in the in a government office and the fantasy of being an actor in the Mumbai film industry, never helped him to understand the busy Mumbai lifestyle the lack of financial support eventually forced him to remain clerk throughout his life. He thinks that the person who did not understand his talent are responsible for this failure and his strong desire to become a hero results into mental imbalance and he end up in a mental hospital. The person, who came to Mumbai to become a Hero, is after 16 years of his stay in the city, is sitting in a mental hospital of Mumbai and is remembering his village, mother, late father, late sister and the fields of the village.
