A Painting Exhibition of a NoMad, who left his home country (Germany) years before in his youth and ever since, has been travelling around the world. Living in west of Gujarat from past few years, Ivan Koschimider, will be presenting his art works on the 3rd of March, 2017 for sale.
Jointly organised by Alliance Francaise d’Ahmedabad and ZOCA (Zone of Contemporary Arts), this exhibition is an attempt to feed the contemporary art scene in Ahmedabad.

About Artist
Ivan Koschmider was born in 1942 in Germany. He studied in Munich and Paris. Known as a mixed media specialist, he has also collaborated on several books. Ivan has had a combination of one man shows and group shows starting from the year 1972. The soul of his work echoes the dominant black of painting.
The light of shadows is concentrated so that it can take shape. Paper is used by Koschmider in ways it might never have been used before. He comes to it grappling, hugging, tearing colouring black in all of its consistencies to the point where it becomes material. Black swaths and white verbal images which are equally violent and tender, evoking war, desolation, loss, love, people and fields. Ivan lives in India and the United States.
