It has an exotic set up of Zanzibar in the Indian Ocean which offers to be the melting pot of the cultures of India, Arabia, Africa and Europe during the colonial period. Synopsis: ‘Jeram Shivji ni Pedhi’ is a leading Indian company in sea-trading with its settlements on the East Coast of Africa that mainly trades slaves, spices and other goods. Ladhabha is a wise and respected figure at the head of this company who is well connected with the Arab Sultan of Zanzibar, the British colonial officers and his compatriot traders in Africa. Ramjibha is a strong, brave but merciless and cruel employee of ‘Jeram Shivji ni Pedhi’ who regularly travels into the dense forests of Africa where he imprisons the natives as slaves. While on one of such expeditions, something horrible happens that transforms Ramjibha who then vows to abolish slavery. He leads a non-violent movement to free the imprisoned slaves and starts teaching farming to the natives. Dunkirk, a British explorer is missing in Africa. The pirates in the Indian Ocean have kidnapped a British Officer and his wife. The British Commanding Officer in Zanzibar demands that the Arab Sultan of Zanzibar should get them back or else the British army will attack Zanzibar. Sultan seeks Ladhabha’s help who offers to help finding Dunkirk in the impregnable forests of Africa if the British agree to fight the pirates themselves. Ladhabha admires Ramjibha’s vision and promises him to support and help him in his move to abolish the slavery. Ramjibha finds Dunkirk and saves his life. Mrs. Wembley, the wife of the British Officer who was kidnapped by the pirates, was kept with an Indian girl, Rukhi. Rukhi set out from India to look for her husband Harjivan who went to Africa in search of work after their marriage in childhood but has never returned home nor sent any news. Rescuing Rukhi from the pirates also becomes a greater motivation for the entire Indian community in Africa to abolish piracy from the Indian Ocean. Lalio Ghant, an excommunicated Indian from the African settlement, has made friends with Arab pirates and has grown to be a notorious criminal. Lalio Ghant comes to know of Rukhi’s abduction by the pirates and kills Abu Hasan, the Arab leader of the pirates. Ramjibha leads Indian delegation to rescue Rukhi and succeeds in bringing her back. In the meanwhile, Zanzibar undergoes political instability. The Sultan dies following a grave illness. His younger son Burges allies with other Arab kingdoms to win the throne against his elder brother who is supported by the Indian community. The Indian settlement is threatened by the Arabian allies but Lalio Ghant helps them and is badly injured while victory favours the Indians.
