Mata ni Pachedi is a sacred ode and a depiction of Goddesses by drawing, painting and dyeing using natural minerals, dyes and dried flowers, herbs.

The artists involved in this age old craft have immense respect and love for their art.

It is a way to honor the Goddesses, narrating their might, stories and miracles.

Workshop Details :
– The process involves using cotton textile which is first made starch free and treated with ‘Harda powder'(myroballan)-a natural mordant for the absorption of the color.

– Tara- ABD and pH Designs bring with the support of the artisans a chance to learn the honorable craft from the artisans directly.
In this intense and interactive three day workshop, the learners get to understand the systematic way which involve different stages and layers of making the sketch first ,dyeing ,printing and washing to give the final form.

– Also the finishing of the sacred art depends on the flow of the stream of the river,the season and other factors which play a very significant role.

– The natural mineral used are alum,”harda”,dried flowers, madder root powder Jaggery and iron pieces.

– The glory of this craft remains strong over the ages and is practiced in the same honorable way.

– Adding more value to the learning session is you get a chance to learn at the artisan s workshop to have a detailed understanding of each and every aspect.

– Materials are provided by us.
