Japanese paper cutting is called Kirie or Kirigami (literally meaning cut picture). It is said to have developed after 610 AD when Tesuki Washi paper, invented in China, was brought to Japan by Doncho, a Buddhist monk from Korea. The Japanese commercialised papermaking by hand and by 800 AD their skills were unrivalled.

About Leather Batik Leather art is a successful industry and is a craft that is practised only in 24 parganas of West Bengal. The style evolved as a result of the Art Movement and these products have now become globally famous for their appliqué, batik and embossed craftwork. This particular craft employs the cutting, polishing and embossing of leather by hand painting. Creating traditional and modern patterns, this workshop is different from a run-of-the-mill intro to printed or coloured leather. The traditional motifs that depict floral and geometric designs and the natural dyes used in this process give it a very classy look. Workshop Details : – In this workshop, you’ll discover the basic soap formulation. – You will learn about oils, colorants, fragrances, and formulations. – We will be covering basic definitions, ingredients, process, equipment, tools, lye safety, and clean-up as relating to cold-process soap making. – Calculation of lye according to oil. – You will learn techniques like – how to make swirls, how to handle nozzles, checking trace levels. – No SLS, no SLEs, no chemicals or any harmful chemicals will be used in making these soaps.
