Couching is a part of the hand embroidery, only thing is it is done more with cords and ropes!!
As amazing it sounds,it does need needle and threads but main element are the soft cords.
It is more of a laid work,where in thin cords or thin ropes are laid on fabric with the help of fabric glues and then using needle and thread these are stitched at regular intervals in contrasting colors then of the cords and creating patterns.
Workshop details :
Below stitches will be taught :
1) Couching with single straight stitch
2) Couching with double straight stitch
3) Couching with patterned straight stitch
4) Couching with cross stitch
5) Couching with slant or hem stitch
6) Couching with herring bone stitch
7) Pattern making using couching embroidery
8) Product Development
After learning the process ,one can use couching embroidery to club up with different crafts and create patterns to make cushions,tops,stoles and much more.
Material will be provided at the venue.

A mosaic is a piece of art or image made from the assemblage of small pieces of colored glass, stone, or other materials. It is often used in decorative art or as interior decoration. Most mosaics are made of small, flat, roughly square, pieces of stone or glass of different colors, known as tesserae. Workshop Details : – This 3 hour mosaic workshop will enable the participants to acquire a basic knowledge of mosaic making. – Participant will learn, Basic techniques, tools and materials involved in creating mosaic art + Cutting tile + adhesive to use + grouting. – Final product is ceramic tile mosaic tray (10.5″ x 8″ x 2″) – All required materials will be provided.
