This month forth, Povera launching a series of workshops designed and curated to specifically tailor the needs of spoken word poets in Ahmedabad. We shall begin with a basic workshop on Introduction to Spoken Word Poetry and Performance and keep progressing from there. You shall also see a lot of your favourite artists from around the country, come tutor you in the art form.

This month’s workshop shall cover the following:

-Introduction to Spoken Word
-What Spoken Word can do for you
-Writing for the stage whilst not losing your authenticity
-Performance basics + what makes a good performer
-Different performance styles
-Enhance versatility in content
-Building stage presence
-Working on the performer-audience connection

+Exercises on writing and editing

The workshop showcase on the theme of confessions! All one need to know about the showcase is something you’ve never //seen// before.

Mehta Gallery invites you for Workshop on ‘Traditional Nathdwara Style of Painting’ to be conducted by Mrs. Vaidehi Shah (an Ahmedabad based artist who has been practicing miniature paintings and Pichwai paintings on cloth as well as paper since last 36 years) The workshop will commence at the above mentioned time, starting with a very brief talk on Nathdwara school of painting.
