The workshop aims to stimulate skills like visualization and creativity keeping central idea of sustainability. This course introduces environmentally conscious techniques, group discussion among participants, critiques and video screenings and display. Class commences with a basic introduction on material exploration and its various techniques. Course Objectives – • Learn basics of installation art and engage in hands-on work and discussions • Learning the impressive ability to sculpt material into three- dimensional art pieces • Participants will be challenged to re-purpose materials and objects by drawing inspiration from their surroundings • Investigate and develop an understanding for sustainable art and design practice About the Artist – Shweta Vala is a contemporary artist. Her work encompasses mix media, installations and site specific art. She has conferred M.A in Arts, Design & Communication at CEPT University. Vala has exhibited at art museums of Austria and Switzerland in collaboration with Swiss artists. Her last exhibition was curated by The legendary Architect Peter Zumthor titled “Dear to me” at Kunsthaus Bregenz in Europe. She also exhibited at India Art Fair Delhi, Kochi-Muziris Biennale and has been nominated for Cima Art Awards 2017, Kolkata and Arte Mondiale India Art Awards 2017, Ahmedabad. She has worked with various international artists such as Swiss, Australian, Japanese and Norwegian. The fees of the workshop is inclusive of the materials, all the materials required will be provided at the workshop venue.
