Charlotte Art Weekly #12
The land of Charlotte must be covered with a few clouds but the weather is sunny, and nothing can stop the Charlotteans from enjoying the most engaging literature gatherings, grooviest musical evenings, though provoking talk shows, intellectual movie screenings, creative art events, amusing stand-up comedy showcases and some fantastic film screenings. The cultural fraternity of the city is not only helping it to be a more creative geography but is also helping the community to increase their creative potentials holistically as a society.
The 12the Charlotte Art Weekly reflects achiever Doc’s life journey who was a Charlotte born sculptor and painter staying in Florida. Renowned artist Doris Marie Leeper alias Doc attended the Duke University and had planned to become a brain surgeon professionally, but after her graduation in art history, Doc grew to become one of the Florida Artists Hall of Fame awardees. She has around 100 paintings and sculptors featured in the USA and were one of the principal founders of the Canaveral National Seashore and conceived the Atlantic Center for the Arts too. Today we reminiscence her by her quote “If you had the world with no music, no dance, no visual arts — I don’t even want to try and think about how horrible that would be.”
