Music lovers are in for a treat this week. Aficionados of Indian classical music can look forward to hearing live music by legendary Hindustani classical music vocalist Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty next week. Western music lovers, meanwhile, can look forward to the tunes of one of the greatest guitarists of all time, Lindsey Buckingham. Read on to find out what else is happening in the city.

The inspiration for our 71st Charlotte Art Weekly is American sports journalist and author Howard Cosell. The influential personality was a well-known name when it came to radio, television and print media between the 1960s and 1980s. He performed in several TV shows and movies and was known for his blustery, cocksure personality. Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, in 1988, Cosell was declared to be the All-Time Best Sportscaster and also listed among the 50 Greatest TV Stars of All Time by TV Guide.
