With the excelling humidity in the atmosphere the only cool thing that can be grabbed in the city to smoothen the life course are the creative happenings. With the fourth edition of Charlotte Art Weekly (CAW 4) we present you a list of innovative and enriching happenings curated in a city roofed under pitch-dark clouds loaded with water.
The inspiration for the CAW 4 is the Jewish-American author and newspaper publisher Harry Golden. Born in Ukraine, Golden moved to Charlotte in 1941 as a news reporter for the Charlotte Observer and Charlotte Labour Journal. He was a socialist and often wrote on the topic of bigotry and racial segregation in a comic form. He has written several books, magazines and published articles and his ideologies are still referred as Harry Golden Phenomenon, which was mentioned in Harry Golden and the American Audience magazine in 1961.
The events that every Charlottean should look forward to are:
A concert of abstract art full of colourful strokes, shapes and figurative compositions. An event to taste art, accompanying with firsthand artists and lip smacking food.
