Now in its 7th year ReDi continues its discourse on being responsibly digital

Experts, academicians and practitioners shall gather at the ReDi Digital Dialogue 2019 on World Social Media Day, June 30, 2019, to talk on important topics like “Parenting in Digital Age”, “Impacting Sports Through Digital Integration” and “Using Digital Media for Governance”.

The technological advancements in the field of Social Media are growing each day. While people look at these interactive platforms as a vent to share their thoughts and make their voices heard, brands use it to promote their products. All in all, sharing stuff on a digital platforms has become a tool of empowerment for all. As per a report on statista.com the cyber community shall touch 2.77 billion users by 2019 ends. The power of digital media is phenomenal, and with it emerges the challenge to ensure that this power is utilised towards positive global change. World Social Media day is celebrated to talk about positive digital behaviour across the globe. In Ahmedabad, the responsibility of a positive social media dialogue has been taken by ReDi Digital Dialogue for the past six years. Over 6 editions ReDi has created interesting and impact making dialogues around important topics like Fake News epidemic, Mental Health in Digital world, Political Marketing, Twitter for transformation etc. The event witnesses participation from industry experts, social media users, influencers, academicians, practitioners and students. Previous editions have seen participation from organisations like UNICEF, Twitter India, Telenor, The Viral Fever, Exchange4media, Tech Mahindra, Ebay, Kotak Securities, Infibeam, Amul, Culture Machine, Windchime Communications and more.

This year, in its 7th edition, ReDi Digital Dialouge is once again scheduled on June 30, 2019, the World Social Media Day.  The line up of speakers include –  Anupama Singh, Educationist  & Principal at Jamnabai Narsee School, GIFT City, to join the panel discussion on “Parenting in Digital Age” alongwith Vijay Shankar C4D officer, UNICEF India, Akshay Sethia, Founder Director & Chief Strategist at Dezine Brainz Digital and Prachi Mihir Shah, Parent Educator & Founder at The Milestone Preschool. The Digital Age is having a massive impact on the impressionable minds; and it is welcome to see ReDi initiate a discourse around this important topic. And this time around, ReDi is not limiting itself to lectures and discussions, they have a special musical session by the terrific musical duo Shyamal-Saumil who will be performing a Gujarat Rap to close the day.

Further more there are speaker sessions by Mukesh Kumar, Vice-Chairman & CEO, Gujarat Maritime Board, IAS (Gujarat 1996) and Sanjay Adesara CEO, Gujarat Fortune Giants on the topics of “Using Digital Media for Governance” and “Impacting Sports Through Digital Integration” respectively. The event will close with an Open House to facilitate discussions among panelists and participants.

ReDi is now synonymous with positive digital media discourse. Every year professionals, industry and academia await their resourceful event to participate, learn and contribute. This year the dialogue is organized in partnership with UNICEF, and supported by Centre for Communication of Child Rights(CCCR), an initiative of SLS-PDPU. The ReDi Digital Dialouge 2019 will happen at hotel The Fern between 10 am to 1 pm on Sunday, June 30, 2019.
