New Year means time for SAPTAK festival.

Saptak, is by far one of the most comprehensive show of Indian Classical Music that happens on earth. As the new year chimes in, avid Indian classical music lovers, gear up for the fortnight long festival that brings together some of the biggest names from classical music scene.

This year around the festival is dedicated to renowned vocalist Gangubai Hangal. Hangal belongs to the Kirana Gharana and sings the Khyal  genre of music. As a gesture of respect towards her art Government of Karnataka has created a museum in her birth place ‘Gangothri’.

The 36th edition of Saptak will last for 13 days and the big names that shall be performing are Pt. Jasraj, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Pt. ShivKumar Sharma, Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasiya and many more.

The festival shall happen at Amrut Mody School Of Managment, opp. IIM.
