Building Entrepreneurship in Culture & Heritage Sectors

Centre For Heritage Management, Ahmedabad University and Casa Dela India, Valladolid, Spain jointly organised a unique program titled, ‘Business Strategies for Heritage Management’. Experts from US, Spain and India were called in to share inputs with a select lot of entrepreneurs, craftsmen and artists, with an aim to train them in building enterprises in domains of culture and creativity. Heritage Management is a new stream being developed by Ahmedabad University, which is a welcome move to create talent and interest in this otherwise neglected field.

The program is funded by European Union, and under this project a mentorship lab ‘Ahmedabad Heritage Venture Lab’ is established. AHVL aims to incubate potential entrepreneurs from the field of heritage and culture and provide them with academic and network resources to help them take their passions to self-sustaining levels. Fifteen entrepreneurs are selected for the first batch of mentorship.
