Playwright Saumya Joshi’s blockbuster Gujarati play 102 Not Out, which is a comedy drama featuring a 75-year-old son and a 102-year-old father has now been adapted into a movie, to be directed by Oh My God fame Umesh Shukla. The most anticipated movie would star Amitabh Bachchan as the father and Rishi Kapoor as the son , and both shall reprise the roles of original Gujarati Characters.

The drama’s plot revolves around the father (played by Jayesh More) who is struggling to break the world record of the longest man alive, and the son (played by Prem Gadhvi) who is feeling older than his father. The play is a cheerful and thoughtful take on aging and mortality. Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor would appear together in a film after 26 long years, a phenomenon worth waiting for. The shoot of the film has begun and is expected to get complete by the end of July 2017. Umesh Shukla who has directed mainstream Hindi films like OMG- Oh My God! and All is Well, is also the producer of the original Gujarati play and had always believed the humorous narrative of the drama to be excellently suitable for a movie. The screenplay has been adapted by Joshi himself, and the music will be composed by AR Rahman.
