While local authorities are busy struggling to manage the gushing storm water penetrating every lane and corner of the urbanising metropolitan, the delegates of the Heritage City of Ahmedabad decided to celebrate the drizzling ambience through a more enriching path. Ahmedabad University’s Centre for Heritage Management declared the first chapter of the yearly International Heritage Management Conference series, where they marked the graduation of the foremost batch of students of Masters of Management Studies in Heritage and welcomed the new ones.
The conference will take place at Ahmedabad University from July 28, 2017, to July 31, 2017, and will feature discussions on interesting topics like Heritage Economic and Livelihood, Challenges in Museum Management, Intangible Heritages, Participatory Process in Heritage Management, policies and various cultural literacy enhancing sessions. The keynote address will be opened by Prof Amareshwar Galla, ED, International Institute for Inclusive Museum and the conference will be progressed in the presence of cultural experts, students and academicians coming from 15 states of India, UK, USA, Portugal, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
The intellectuals participating at the conference aims to take heritage beyond preservation and documentation of historical monuments and unique architecture and make it a means of generating sustainability, livelihoods, social development and innovation amongst the society.
