Cine-man Kundan Shah who introduced dark satirical humour to Indian Cinema without being slapstick through his National Award winning celluloid Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983), has passed away due to a cardiac arrest. The sexagenarian Indian filmmaker and writer, who formally completed his film study from FTII, Pune is also remembered for creating Television series Nukkad and for his directorship in serials like Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi and RK Laxman’s cartoon character based Wagle Ki Duniya. He wrote the screenplay and directed the Shah Rukh Khan starrer film Kabhi Haa Kabhi Naa for which he received the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Movie in 1994.
