1. Dal Shorba with Lemon Maggi

Growing up, and even right now, people always ramble about how Maggi is so unhealthy and bad for your body. Well, here is a recipe to shut them up. Loaded with dal and the zestiness of lemons, this really innovative recipe is a must try, which will pave the way for a new era of Khichdi.

Ingredients :

  1. 1 packet Maggi Noodles
  2. 1 tbsp oil
  3. 1 cup chopped onions
  4. 1 chopped chilli
  5. Lemon
  6. Coriander
  7. Cooked Dal
  8. Salt
  9. Water

Process :

1 – Cook one packet of Maggi Noodles

2 – Head 1 tbsp oil in a pan

3 – Add onions and chilli in oil

4 – Add cooked Dal

5 – Add water and lemon juice

6 – Let it cook for a while

7 – Pour it over a bowl of Maggi noodles

8 – Top it with fresh coriander leaves

 

2. Maggi Veg Omelette

Maggi Veg Omelette

Well, it’s an omelette without an egg. But, I must say, it is a totally different experience in itself. It’s filled with a lot of ingredients and nutrition. Have a little coffee or chai alongside and it will prove to be an ideal breakfast or evening snack.

Ingredients:

1 packet of maggi noodles

1 cup besan (bengal gram flour)

1 cup semolina (rava / sooji)

1/4 cup finely chopped onions

1/4 cup grated carrot

1/4 cup grated coconut

1/2 cup sprouted moong (whole green gram)

2 tsp finely chopped green chillies

1 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)

1 tsp ginger-garlic (adrak-lehsun) paste salt to taste

olive oil for greasing and cooking

Process:

  1. Boil 2 cups of water in a deep pan, add the maggi noodles and cook on a medium flame for 5 to 7 minutes. Drain the excess water and keep aside.
  2. Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl, including the boiled maggi noodles and the maggi masala and mix well.
  3. Add 2 cups of water and mix well.
  4. Divide the batter into 10 equal portions.
  5. Heat a non-stick tava (griddle) and grease it lightly with olive oil.
  6. Pour a ladleful of the batter on the tava (griddle) and spread in a circular motion to make a 125 mm. (5″) diameter circle.
  7. Cover and cook on a medium flame, using a little olive oil, till golden brown spots appear on both the sides.
  8. Repeat steps 5 to 7 to make 9 more omelettes.
  9. Serve the maggi veg omelette immediately.

One of the most Indian things is to make bhajias out of everything. From chillies to bananas, we have fried everything to enjoy it with a little ‘souce’.  And Maggi was not going to be spared either. Check out this amazing Maggi fritter recipe by, our one and only, Tarla Dala which will make you forget about your roadside daal-vadas.

Ingredients:

1 tsp dried mixed herbs

1 packet maggi noodles

1 packet maggi tastemaker

1/4 cup finely chopped capsicum

1/4 cup grated processed cheese

1 tsp dry red chilli flakes (paprika)

2 tbsp cornflour

salt to taste

oil for deep-frying

Process:

  1. Boil 12 cups of water in a deep non-stick pan, add the maggi noodles, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  2. Add the maggi tastemaker, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  3. Transfer the mixture into a deep bowl and allow it to cool completely.
  4. Once cooled, add the capsicum, cheese, chilli flakes, mixed herbs, cornflour and little salt and mix very well.
  5. Heat the oil in a deep non-stick kadhai and drop spoonfuls of the mixture using your fingers and deep-fry, a few at a time, till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides. Drain on an absorbent paper.
  6. Serve immediately with tomato ketchup.

4. Cheese and Egg Maggi

3 guilty pleasures, rapped into one. That’s what this dish is. Reaching the epitome of creaminess, this recipe will transform your experience of Maggi for ever. It’s a very subtle and easy recipe. Wanna give it a shot? Here’s how to make it:

Serves: 1

Ingredients:

1 pack of Maggi

1 Egg

½ cup grated cheese (whichever you prefer or is available)

Salt and pepper to taste.

Process:

  1. Boil 1 ½ cup of water in a pan and add the noodles and masala to it. Simmer until the noodles are 80 per cent cooked.
  2. Meanwhile, beat an egg till it’s frothy. Add it to the Maggi at the aforementioned point and cook until the egg is finely coated on noodles and starts to firm up. Turn off the gas, dress an even layer of the cheese on top and cover it with a lid
  3. Wait for 3-5 mins, and vola! A scrumptious meal is ready.

5. Chinese Maggi

Chinese Maggi

Well, more like an Indo-Chinese recipe, this version a garlicy-soya twist which astonishingly complements the Maggi Masala. Being a dish of South Asian, let’s take Maggi to its roots with this recipe:

Serves: 1

Ingredients:

1 pack Maggi Noodles

1 tbsp oil

2 finely chopped garlic cloves

½ inch Ginger

1 tbsp chopped Spring Onions

¼ cup carrots, thinly sliced

¼ cup Capsicum, sliced

1/2 tsp Soy sauce

1 tbsp tomato ketchup

Process:

  1. Cook the Maggi Noodles in 1 ½ cup of water and leave it aside
  2. In a different pan, heat up the oil and saute ginger and garlic for about 2 minutes. Then add spring onions, carrots and capsicum to it and stir fry on high flame for about a minute. Add soy sauce, ketchup and half a packet of Maggi Masala to it

Add the noodles and toss well. Cook for a minute and switch off the flame.
