About International Kite Festival in Ahmedabad
With the upcoming legal clause of banning the glass coated threads this Uttarayan across India, the kite fighters of Gujarat are already a little upset with the decision. But the judgment is certainly in the favor of public interest as it will save many innocent people and birds who slit their throats and die a painful death in the name of the festival every year.
But the most fantastic thing about Uttarayan is the International Kite Festival 2017 at Sabarmati River Front. The festival is now being celebrated for more than 20 years and has now been an integral part of the Virant Gujarat Summit too. Kite flyers from across the globe get invited to relish this festivity and the spectators enjoy the brilliant sight of life-sized creatively shaped kites covering the sky.

The event will take place from January 7, 2017, to January 15, 2017, from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM at Vallabh Sadan Temple Ahmedabad.
