62 paintings exhibiting attractive colors, weaving the real and surreal together are displayed by 16 years old twin brothers, Manan and Manthan at Amdavad ni gufa. The exhibition will remain open till July 17, from 4-8 pm.
Manan and Manthan started to learn painting four years ago, from Arjan Rasadiya. “For me, Art plays a major role to make students sensitive and sensible. Art evolves as a strength one gathers to stand strong in difficult situations, so I believe each person should develop love towards at least one form of Art,” explained Rasadiya on how he felt about Art. Talking about the exhibition he shared, “I did not give them a subject, neither did I instruct them on what to draw and how to add texture; but if you closely observe, they have used a colored cloth and also a knife to add texture, which even established painters fear to use. Both, Manan and Manthan have the innocence, one rarely observes in kids of their age-these days. This innocence and imagination of creating harmony between Humans and Nature has been their strength.”
Paintings have been made with pastel colors on handmade papers, which are mounted in 18*22″ frame.
Talking on a few of his paintings, Manan shared, “Some paintings have reptiles and mammals like bats, generally these are feared by many, through painting I wanted to covey that these are a part of Nature’s beauty and are to be equally loved”
The shy duo hardly spoke more on their work, but the blend of bright colors does attract a looker for quite some time. Art critic, Nisarg Ahir appreciated the fact that the duo made paintings on form and also on formless.
The guest of honour, Ajay Patel, Director of Synthesis Spacelinks and Darshan Patel, Director of Manubhai Zaveri Ornaments were present to encourage the teenage artists from family. They were awestruck with the kind of display and appreciated the work by the twin brothers.
CY suggests a visit to these exhibition to witness how art is irrelevant to age; and to see the effortless skill of young twins that blends real with the surreal. An exhibition you wouldn’t regret seeing.
