Reserved Banks of India

Once George Bernard Shaw wisely said, ‘Lack of money is the root of all evil’ and this week Mr. Shaw’s statement is certainly making sense as recently the Reserve Bank of India decided to ban the global usage of 500 and 1000 rupee bills. A bold and severe step was taken by the Indian leaders to stop the excelling corruption within the nation and to make sure that people stop attaining black income and start paying taxes. But of course, a change can never happen without changing yourself, so as soon as the bills got a ban, people started flocking at banks to exchange their old bills with the new ones or to attain the newly introduced 2000 rupees note.

Photographer Trusha Trivedi was able to capture these candid moments from across the city, which in a certain way the document the gravity of the ongoing revolution.
