Ladakh in Winter

For Himanshu Patel, it all started in 2004 when he went on an excursion with his family and found out photography as his therapy to achieve creativity. An established entrepreneur, who started photography just as a part of his hobby, is today a thorough photographer with a sharp eye. His hobby now gives him an opportunity to isolate from the hustle and bustle of the urbanized mundane. The response towards Himanshu’s pictorials is optimistic and he is looking forward to improving it with better apparatus and mentorship.

 

A caricature from nature’s own gallery, Leh’s serenity has always been a jewel in every explorer’s travel log. In the lap of the Himalayas, the former capital of the Himalayan Kingdom of Ladakh has seen extremely aggressive natural calamities but still stands tall and shows the real heaven on earth through every landscape. The furry yaks & woolly sheep, the sheer blue skies with no city dust or pollution, uncontaminated water flowing in the river stream and people with a heart full of warmth is an everyday scenario at Leh. What sets the album apart is, its shot in freezing winters of the region. The photographer struggles pretty rigorously while balancing their camera focus in this freezing environ. This album by traveler and photographer Himanshu is a tribute to the mountains. And we must say that all the challenges with the weather have resulted in a stunning visual experience, that takes the viewer straight into the Himalayan region.
