The conference was concluded with a declaration, of the city to host a life-sized Heritage Festival from August 1, 2017, to August 15, 2017, to commemorate the achievement.

In this 15 day festivity the heritage sites will be highlighted with colourful illuminations and laser shows, whereas to inculcate intellectual value to the program, govt also plans to cater heritage walks within the walled city, organize talk shows and seminars with experts to discuss culture, conduct poster making and art competitions in educational institutes, and overall through cultural gatherings make enthusiastic citizens more empathetic towards city’s cultural value.

The walled city of Ahmedabad today consists hundreds of pol housing, which overall combines to make a ‘pur’ settlement. It also comprises more than 26 ASI protected structures and various locations where Mahatma Gandhi stayed from 1915 to 1930. The factors were well presented by the AMC, which eventually became the major reason to gain the successful title of ‘World Heritage City’.
