In this edition of AAW we feature the procession of Rath Yatra. Each year thousands of devottes mobilise to celebrate the world’s third-largest Rath Yatra procession in Ahmedabad. The Rath Yatra is an annual procession which marks the mythical ‘city ride’ of Lord Jagannath. The festival is celebrated with lot of fervour and over decades it has broken barriers of religion and caste and sees participation from various communities. The procession begins at 4 am on July 4th from the Jagannath temple in old city of Ahmedabad. The procession includes the majestic idols of Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra which are put up on chariots.
