The city is growing and so are you! Ahmedabad Art Weekly is actually the scale of intellectual growth for Ahmedabad. The increasing number of enriching events shows the increasing creativity amongst the residents. The 94th week of Ahmedabad Art Weekly has got some unique events coming up like the historical event on Mahatma, Art Exhibitions, Music, Theatrical performance, a photo walk, literary gathering and various other creative happenings.

Our inspiration for the 94th AAW is someone, who pioneered the Gujarati short story concept. His literary is appealing as well as bears the quality of being able to connect with a regular reader. His style of depicting human emotions in the most poignant manner and using a poetic style for describing elements is something that makes him a unique writer. We are talking about Gaurishankar Govardhanram Joshi alias Dhumaketu, the writer who published more than 250 books and drafted 492 short stories. Some of Dhumaketu’s most famous includes the Tankha series, Mahaamatya Chanakya, Kalikalsarvagnya Hemchandracharya, Jivanrang and various other literary. He was born at Virpur, near Rajkot and he started his extensive writing career after coming down to Ahmedabad. The writer has won many accolades for his work and has served as an adviser to Sahitya Akademi, Delhi for Gujarati. His most popular short story The Letter (PostMan) is considered by many, among the list of the best short stories ever written in any language.
