India a nation abundant with festivity, where not only the journey but initiation and conclusion of any practice has its own significance in the overall process of a successful outcome. They not only bring a gilded opportunity to ask for forgiveness to your loved ones and the lord but also to enrich yourself with the aptest events happening across the city. The 74th Ahmedabad Art Weekly will try to fill up the best of your bucket list activities with art, theatrical performances, architecture, literature, Stand up Comedy and creativity.

In the early 19th century, when women were not allowed to be a part of a theater group, Jaishankar Bhojak or respectfully called as Jaishankar Sundari, the Padma Bhushan award recipient for his contribution in performing arts field, turned out to be the Ardhanarishvara in theaters. His acting skills as a female character in plays like ‘Saubhagya Sundari’ and Saraswatichandra were exceptionally tremendous and created a milestone for Indian dramatists. Whereas his direction aesthetics proficiency was revealed while making Mithyabhiman, which was originally written by Dalpataram and another play named Mena Gujri, where he synthesized the traditional form of Bhavai and Beijing Opera. His autobiography, which is now translated from Gujarati to Hindi as ‘Kuchh Aansu, Kuchh Phool’ is still a precious literary for Indian recitalists.
