AAW #65

The enrichment bash is ‘On’ and this 65^th Ahmedabad Art Weekly, team Creative Yatra has come up with a list for some of the best events happening around this city. A unique art exhibition, which gives new meaning to aesthetics, and a dynamic musical session, where multiple genres will be played under one roof. A wave of literature is also flowing this week with two book launchs and a poetry gathering for creativity seekers. The festive season is on and there will also be a city walk based on it. Last but not the least some of brilliant theatre artist groups will also be performing their best of skills, and there are also a few renowned artists amongst them.

 

We all know Ahmedabad was some years ago called the Manchester of India due to the city’s cotton mill, its production and associated hardworking people. The 65^th AAW is in the memory of one such soul, who was also renowned as the emperor of mills, Sheth Mangaldas Girdhardas. He was a hardworking personality who was not only a successful entrepreneur but also a philanthropist. Among his many cultural contributions the Town Hall of Ahmedabad has came into place due to his efforts. His abode the House of MG, is a grandeur heritage hotel today and his contributions towards the city will always be an inspiration for every Amdavadi.  Team Creative Yatra is happy to highlight the enriching life of Shree Mangaldas Girdhardas with its 65^th Ahmedabad Art Weekly.
