This week’s Art Weekly inspiration is the legendary Gujarati poet Akha Bhagat, who wrote his satirical poems in a six-stanza signature style calling them Chhappa. The 17th-century virtuoso writer came to Ahmedabad from Jetalpur and became a goldsmith by profession. But with an inspiration borrowed by pundit Gokulnath poet Akha started writing the Bhakti geet philosophy and wrote 746 invaluable Chhappa.
