World Sparrow Day celebrations.
Not many are aware of this beautiful tiny forest, now converted into a Library and Botanical Garden, on the outskirts of the city of Ahmedabad. Yes, we are talking about ‘The Serenity Library and Botanical Garden’. As the name suggests the Serenity provides peaceful environs for large number of species of birds, and is a great resource and recreational centre for wildlife and nature lovers.
On World Sparrow Day, 21st march 2016, it hosted a talk and presentation on the significance of ‘Sparrows’ by Shri Jagat Kinkhabwala. Kinkhabwala is a self motivated nature enthusiast who has given years of persistence efforts to bring about a change in the availability of habitat for sparrows within the urban set up.
The event also had unveiling of a Sparrow Sculpture, and an illustrated book on the same subject.
