Visual Arts in Ahmedabad : Week 1 - 7 August 2016

The first week of August started with two unique exhibitions – one a group arts show and another a group show of Photographs. Team CY visited both the events, here we share glimpses of what we saw and enjoyed.

Abandoned- An exhibition of visual Art.

A group show of 20 artists from across the country who have painted on canvas is exhibited at the Amdavad ni gufa. The show has been conceptualized by Sanjoy Majumder.

This exhibition has a painting done by a young artist: late Markand Koppula, who shows fauvist character in his work. He blends colours in a mystic way. There is a lot of variety on display in this show. One of the exhibits have enamel on copper plate.

The exhibition will be open from 4 -8 pm till August 7. The same exhibition will happen at Bengaluru, Karnataka in first week of November and at Bhubaneswar, Odisha from 15th to 21st November.

Shodh- A photography exhibition

Photographs of six photographers have been exhibited at the Satya Art Gallery. While the photographers chose an individual theme for themselves, the gallery did help to choose the best of those, create a visual narration of the series and supported with the processing and editing of the photographs.

The exhibition has on display photographs by Bhagat Odedara, Mannish Patel, Meghna Divyesh Sejpal, Narayan Patel,Rachana Ashesh Desai and Sonali Dalal.

The exhibition is open from 12 pm to 7pm, and is scheduled from August 2nd to August 7th.
