The India Environment Festival was a celebration of life and the environment, bringing together likeminded eco-friendly citizens of Ahmedabad and mobilising them to create awareness for a greener tomorrow.
The Festival’s second edition, themed “I Am Water“, saw the venue of Ahmedabad Haat transformed into an azure-coloured village. Artworks and installations based on the idea of water conservation, all draped the place from February 16 to 18. Amidst the discourses and film screenings, a one-of-a-kind flea market called ‘Hara Pitara’ was a highlight of the Festival. The market was exclusively dedicated to products that are biodegradable and create almost negligible harm to the environment when used.
The final day ended with a mindful dialogue by educationist, inventor and environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk, who famously inspired Aamir Khan’s character in 3 Idiots. Creative Yatra exclusively interviewed him at the event.
Initiated by WAY (World Around You), the event was a brainchild of eco-entrepreneurs Wricha Johari & Prakshal Mehta who, since 2009, have been connecting the community with the environment through innovative initiatives.
