Alpaviram 2016, the Asian Short and Documentary film festival has begun! Hosted by the National Institute of Design, Alpavirama is showcasing films made by young (under 30) film makers from South Asian Countries and it also has a Competition Segment that is judged by the masters of industries. The 5 days event has successfully showcased 14 movies within the commencement of its 1st day itself. The cinema enthusiasts who were present during the showcase enjoyed movies in different languages like Hindi, Mandarin, Japanese, Nepali and English.
The event started with the lamp lighting ceremony, and an address by the director of NID Pradyumna Vyas, where he thanked and welcomed everyone for being a part of one of the India’s most interesting movie festival. A wave of cross-cultural experience sharing was flowing when the aspiring students of NID met the international movie makers from Asian and South Asian countries like Bangladesh, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The event is one of the rarest open forums occurring within the city, where everyone can be a part of this festivity without spending a dime. The event will showcase more 17 movies tomorrow, 21 movies on Thursday and 16 movies on Friday.
The photo story reflects a small glimpse from Day one of the festival.
The Festival started on 4th of October and will end of 8th of October.
