The New Year begins fresh and vivacious with colors and fragrance at the AMC flower show opening on the 3rd January 2017. A mat woven from the finest flowers spread across an area of 65000 sq. meters had more than 750 species and around 3 lakh flowers, plants and trees. The flower show also has more than 20 nurseries selling their plants, seeds, saplings and gardening tools.
These flowers and plants adorned everything from the lawns to built forms, specially designed for the show. There were around 30 sculptures made from flowers and plants, ranging from nocturnal animals to dinosaurs to birds in the pond and the signature peacock, done in Pinks for 2017. Flowers we have never seen before, read about or seen only in books and flowers we see every day, the show has them all. Flowers like Aster and Hypoestes to Gulmohar and Shatavri, these plants have been grown and maintained with a lot of love and care.
The greenhouse exhibition area was the main area of attraction where there are all sorts of unusual flowers from purple Orchids to Aglaonema to Dracenea. Built to show how a live greenhouse works, this area is sealed and is under constant supervision for temperature and water control.
The first day saw an onslaught of people from photography enthusiasts to selfie buffs, families and parents teaching their kids about flora and fauna. It also created a scenic setting for couples and friends with the sun setting and the pleasant weather, full of fragrances that no perfume can match.
The Flower show 2017 in ahmedabad shall remain open till 13th January, 2017, between 10.00 am to 9.00 pm, every day at Flower Garden, Sabarmati Riverfront, Behind Tagore Hall. Entry is open and free for all.
