Yugpurush :: A Play in Hindi -  Indian Events in Charlotte

A play based on the relationship between Jain Philosopher Shrimad Rajchandra and Indian Leader Mahatma Gandhi, Yugpurush: Mahatma ke Mahatma is the Hindi play that describes the spiritual journey of Mahatma Gandhi, how he met Shrimad in Mumbai and later shared numerous letters about Satya (Truth) Ahimsa (Non-Violence) and Dharma (Law) which shaped the philosophies of India’s Father of the Nation; which today the world understands as Gandhian Philosophy.

The narrative also touches upon Gandhi’s stay in England when he faced severe spiritual crisis. The 120 minutes long play has till now completed more than 550 shows in 190 cities and will be showcased in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA on June 29, 2017, hosted by NC Indian Events.

Written by Marathi playwright Uttam Gada, directed by Rajesh Joshi and music composed by Sachin-Jigar, Yugpurush, which was originally a Gujarati play has now been translated into four different languages. The initiative has been undertaken by Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur, under the auspices of mystic Pujya Gurudev Rakeshbhai.

It is a charity show, and a great opportunity for city dwellers of Charlotte to engage in the rich story of spiritual conversations of two Mahatma’s of last century.
