Vinyl Records Relive as Sony Decides to Resume its Manufacturing After 28 Years

28 years ago in 1989, Sony Music had declared LPs outdated and cumbersome, when the CDs were introduced, which stored an extensive number of songs as compared to vinyl records. While everyone was waiting for CDs to go cool again, the vinyl market upsurge began with an increasing demand amongst music collectors and the dead concept is refurbished in 2017. Sony’s primary pressing plant will be within the manufacturing unit located in the south-west of Tokyo, Japan. The company has not revealed which album or what music will be pressed into the wax but the former engineers will be rehired to teach the young technicians, the art of vinyl making, and the unit will be fully functional by March 2018.
