The Singaporean Art of Armies

The National Defense Services of Singapore has recently completed its 50 years of establishment and to mark the celebration 50 artists took an excursion to 20 campsites located at ground zero to find inspiration and convert them into 130 patriotic artworks. These are currently exhibited at ION Orchard Shopping Mall, Singapore as a part of memento for their bravery.

The overall program is an effort of Singapore Art Society and the exhibition displays bronze made sculptures, paintings, calligraphy prints which were made within the four months duration. The legacy and pride of NS50 enveloped in the layer of aesthetics is inaugurated by second defence minister Ong Ye Kung and will be on display until July 29 for art viewers and patriotic citizens. The artworks are later planned to be showcased at other art destinations of Singapore like The Arts House from July 2 to July 15 and then at Suntec Convention Centre from July 30 to Aug 13.
