Gujarat Gaurav Divas: Reminiscing the Legacy of Gujarat

As part of the Gujarat Gaurav Divas (May 1st) celebrations and on the occasion of World Heritage Day, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and Gujarat Tourism Department organised a grandeur inaugural ceremony, where they launched the Heritage Exhibition, and Art Centre located within the life-sized Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation hall called as the Pandit Dindayala Upadhyay Auditorium of Ahmedabad. The inaugural ceremony that happened on April 18, 2017, was accompanied by an informative session discussion on Tourism and Heritage, and delegates from various cities of Gujarat were present to amplify the pride of this event. Jashabhai Barad, Rajendra Trivedi, Gautam Shah, Pramodaben Sutari, Praveen Patel, Mukesh Kumar, Lalsinh Thakore, Bipin Sikka, Avantika Singh, Bijalben Patel and N Shrivastava were present during this evening.

The heritage exhibition showcases not only the historical moments and monuments of Ahmedabad but also notifies the major attraction of the city that one should visit and grab the charm of Amdavad. From Jama Masjid to Kankaria Lake to Manek Chowk the exhibition displays even interesting facts about the town like; the first Gujarati Thali was served in 1900 in just Re.1.

The art centre is currently exhibiting paintings and sculptures from the Kanoria Centre for Arts’ studio and is definitely worth watching. Budding, as well as veteran artists, have contributed their artworks, especially for art adorers and connoisseurs.
